报告简介:

Ballasted track sleepers have the important function of providing sufficient lateral resistance to prevent lateral movement of the rails. If the lateral force induced by the thermal expansion of the steel rails overcomes the lateral resistance of the sleepers, rail buckling may occur. Efforts have been paid to investigate characteristics of lateral resistance. Previous studies conducted a series of shaking table tests on full-scale ballasted tracks and found that lateral resistance was reduced during and after seismic motions. Thus, this lecture aims to introduce recent researches regarding the stability of railway ballasted tracks, especially from the experimental insights on the Lateral Ballast Resistance and seismic countermeasures, and mainly includes the followings: importance of lateral ballast resistance, importance of lateral ballast resistance, improvement of lateral ballast resistance by changing sleeper shape, improvement of lateral ballast resistance by changing sleeper shape, improvement of lateral ballast resistance by changing sleeper shape, pullout tests are commonly employed to estimate the lateral resistance of sleepers both in situ and through experimental setups.
